James Moore Statement on His Write-In Campaign for Governor

CONNELLSVILLE, Pa. — James Moore, independent write-in candidate for Governor of Pennsylvania, released the following statement on the direction of his campaign:

“My campaign was never built around having the biggest political machine, the most money, or the backing of party insiders. It was built around putting actual ideas on the table and giving Pennsylvanians another choice.

I have spent this campaign developing detailed reform plans on property taxes, education, transportation, healthcare, utilities, public safety, elections, government accountability, and other issues that affect people every day. Voters deserve more than slogans and attacks. They deserve to know what a candidate wants to do, how it would work, what it could cost, and what tradeoffs come with it.

Running as a write-in candidate makes the road harder, but it does not change why I am running. Pennsylvania families are still dealing with rising costs, property taxes, utility bills, infrastructure problems, concerns about schools, and a government that too often manages problems instead of fixing them.

Between now and Election Day, I am going to keep taking this campaign directly to the people. I will continue releasing policy, answering questions, attending events, meeting voters, and building support across Pennsylvania.

I do not expect every voter to agree with me on every issue. I do expect candidates for Governor to tell Pennsylvanians what they actually intend to do if elected. That is the standard I am trying to meet.”
